
The hips can hold so much trauma. And it shows up in all areas of the body. Bodywork for the glutes can have incredible results for the body.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Tight glutes (the group butt muscles) can pull all kinds of things out of whack, which can cause pain and dysfunction in the hips, low back, knees and ankles. It can even cause sciatica symptoms when they press on the nerve that runs through them. Targeted bodywork on the glutes is a big part of what I do.⠀⠀

Relieving tension and tightness in the glutes through bodywork can reduce pain in all these areas, and reduce the risk of injury.

In Transformational Bodywork, the glutes are one of the first places I go because hip dysfunction and imbalance impact the entire body. Even upper body symptoms, rib cage dysfunction, neck tension, and headaches can all be traced back to the hips and glutes. Bodywork on the glutes cannot be neglected.

But why? To a large extent, it’s related to how much sitting we do, which leads to tightened and weakened muscles. And the type of sitting we do. Modern furniture is a misunderstood culprit (but that’s another conversation). I can’t change how you sit but I CAN change how your glutes function through my bodywork.

In traditional massage, the glutes and inner thighs are all difficult to access due to the positioning on the table and draping. I solve both those by working on the floor and keeping my clients clothed, giving me fantastic access and leverage my bodyweight to apply powerful yet gentle pressure.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
