Ok, now that I have your attention 😂 let’s talk about the impact that breasts can have on the body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve treated many clients with large breasts and it’s tricky because rarely can or would one do anything to change the size. But what we can do is minimize the impact on your body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, some questions: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you have large breasts?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you you have neck tension?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Upper back pain?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shoulder issues?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They could be linked. Breasts can be heavy! That’s extra physical weight for your upper body to carry to keep you upright. This creates all kinds of imbalances, and then pain or injury. But just rubbing where it hurts isn’t enough. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In treating clients with pain we focus on:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ opening up through the chest⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ releasing the muscles that are holding on (and tensing up)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ strengthening the upper body to give you more stability so you’re better able to hold those babies up (like in the picture!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Another thing we don’t typically think of is the impact that bras have on restriction the rib cage and collarbone. People with large breasts don’t often have a choice but wear bras with high support. So I often also focus on freeing up the restrictions that causes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My clients experience much less pain and more tools for counteracting the impact of heavy breasts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also want to acknowledge the emotional impact of breasts (particularly larger breasts) can have on the body. The relationship that you have with your breasts impacts your physical body as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not everyone with breasts identifies as female. So the physical and emotional impact that comes with having breasts that you either do not want, or are ashamed of can’t be understated. The impact on your alignment when you emotionally attempt to “hide” your breasts is real. And I’m here to hold space for that too.
Healing is a commitment to self. It is embracing t Healing is a commitment to self. It is embracing the unknown, stepping into vulnerability. And it can feel scary.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Perhaps that's why most of us hold off for years, waiting for pain to pass. We live with an endless string of "I'm fine", "it's fine", "I'll be ok", "it will pass." But wounds don't heal on their own. And the more time that passes, the more deeply entrenched they become. The more layers that must be peeled back. The more vulnerable you have to get.  Most of us sit with this sinking feeling that something is missing. A deep knowing that there is more to life, living just below the surface. And a yearning for more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Healing brings more. But first, vulnerability. We MUST step into vulnerability, healing doesn't happen without it.  How do I define vulnerability? Today it looks like this:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌊 The Freedom to be myself⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈 The Permission to be imperfect⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🦄 Detached from the need for approval  I want to share something vulnerable with you. Several months ago, I knew there was more. I knew I was stuck, and I would never become unstuck unless I dug deeper.  But here's the thing. I had just made a huge leap with my business, and honestly wasn't sure I would be able to pay my bills the next month. How's that for vulnerability?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And still, I took a HUGE leap of faith. I committed to healing my own damn self. I invested in myself, and in a healer who resonated with me. And stepped off into the unknown.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That one decision unlocked something hidden in the universe that was meant for me. I began the work, I began really TRULY showing up for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I won't sugarcoat it, it's hard fucking work. It takes time, money, heart space, energy, more money, but ultimately it's a safer investment than living in pain. How are you investing in your own SELF?
Pain is your body's way of holding on to trauma. R Pain is your body's way of holding on to trauma. Reconnecting with your body is crucial for releasing and healing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  My body has been traumatized. My heart has held such pain and grief. And it's all stuck, stuck all down in my pelvis and hips. Sure, my physical imbalances contribute but focusing on those does not heal the trauma. It just spins me in circles actually. I’m tired of spinning.  My healing journey has intensified this last few months after an intense physical trauma triggered and retraumatized me. It has shown me how much more healing there still is to do. There's still so much. But I’m ready.  So much I'm holding on to. So much stuck. So much disconnection. It's seemingly easy to disconnect when tuning in hurts. It can feel easier to tuck it all away. But it comes out one way or another.  No more. I'm working on releasing it ALL. This does not happen alone, my friends, it just doesn't. Healing requires community, it necessitates investment of time, energy, and money. Today I invested in me, in my healing, because life is too short to live with “I’m fine.”  I have so much more I want to share with you. For now, let me say: there are so many phenomenal healers, bodyworkers, and light workers in Portland. I'm blessed to know and receive healing from many of them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  Today I had the extreme pleasure of working with the very gifted Leah with @kinetic_remedies_bodywork  Thank you for the healing, the soul work, the divine presence, and the guidance in returning home to myself.

Tension in your forearms pulls fascia and causes all kinds of issues from your thumb to your head. Signs that you have tight forearms:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✔️ Carpal tunnel symptoms⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Wrist pain⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ Elbow pain or “tennis elbow”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Most of us shy away from talking about it, and this post will likely make some cringe. Healers especially dislike talking directly about it. But it's important that we embrace it for what it is: an exchange of energy.  So, let's be real: I charge money for my services, for my physical, emotional, and energetic energy. You pay for that energy, but mostly you pay for the outcome. You pay for the pain relief, the energy healing, the physical and emotional transformations that come from it. And you pay for the years that it took me to become the Healer I am today.  💵 I charge money to allow me to support myself, and also to create a sustainable business and life. It can be a difficult part of the conversation. I periodically endure harsh comments around my pricing, and I just embrace it as just part of the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💵 I charge for what I physically, energetically, and emotionally put into my sessions.  💵 I charge with intention, from a place of service. Far from arbitrary, I charge what I need to build a sustainable life. My clients can attest, I put a LOT into my sessions. They're hard on my body so I have limits around how many clients I can see. I work into my pricing how much self-care and healing that I need to sustain my practice. If I push myself, and get injured, I help no one. If I burn out, I help no one.  But it's important to get clear on what we VALUE. And what we can "afford" to live with. Can you afford to live with that chronic back pain that keeps flaring up? How about the headaches that make it hard to care for yourself and others? Or the hip pain that keeps you from doing the movement and activities that you love?  Let's shift the discussion. What would you pay to live pain-free? Because that's what my clients experience. Clients who do deep healing work with me literally change their lives. What would you pay for that?

One of the most amazing pieces is seeing how much I've grown to trust my intuition. I've felt myself and my practice shifting a lot this last few months. But I'm still finding words for it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's easy to talk about the technical aspects of my work. I'm good at what I do, I've spent 9 years crafting my unique style from very distinct modalities.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But there is a deeper level of my practice that's a bit harder to put words to. The easiest way to describe it is energy work. I often ask clients "how do you want to feel?" Then my sessions flow with technical and energetic intentions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For example, sometimes we need grounding and centering, others we need refreshing and energizing. A skill I have is tuning into this and adapting my sessions to hold space for every part of you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I'll ask you: how do YOU want to feel today?
Do you struggle with low-back pain?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you struggle with low-back pain?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We need to talk about core strengthening. No, I'm not talking about crunches, sit-ups, and six-packs. That can actually aggravate your pain.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead, I'm talking about deep core stabilization. 360 degree core strengthening is focused on activating all muscles of the core and using the breath to engage them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I avoid using words like "weak" and instead focus on simply "turned off" or "inactive" muscles. How does this contribute to low back pain? In simple anatomical terms, the core muscles help stabilize the pelvis. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the front of your body isn't properly stabilizing your pelvis, your low back (specifically your QL muscles) take over. And it's too much pressure for these little but mighty muscles.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stiffness, tightness, trigger points, spasms, and pain take over. This limits range of motion, and often just makes movement, sitting, and sleeping difficult.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Can you relate? I'd love to help you work through it! I do specific bodywork techniques to release what's causing the low back to seize up and give simple activation techniques for you to do at home.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The intention is to bring you back to life and leave you feeling energized and rejuvenated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And the stretch to your hips, legs, and back is delightful and refreshing!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But Healing is not a one-size-fits all, or linear process. And last week I received a profound message from the Universe to Let Go. Going forward, you will now have two ways of working with me: single sessions and packages of 3 or 12 sessions to be completed at your own pace.⠀  Investment will continue to reflect the physical, emotional, and energetic skills and labor that I bring to all my sessions, regardless of how you come to me.  🌈 All sessions will be 110 minutes, including 90 minutes of bodywork and 20 minutes of whatever Healing it is that you need: assessments, self-bodywork, coaching, energy work, holding space, and processing.⠀⠀  🌈 Single sessions will continue to be priced higher to reflect that it takes more energy and skill to provide Healing in this way.  🌈 Packages of 3 and 12 sessions will save you money and give us the opportunity to deepen your healing. All packages will come with access to my Heal Your Pain to Transform Your Life mini-course.  🌈 A package of 12 sessions will also include the mini-course and a Self-Care Kit (therapy balls, silicone cups for self-cupping, a custom CBD cream, a YoSoy candle, and a package of Mama-te-A tea).
