Those things you know are good for you, that you know help you be strong and balanced. Make them simply part of your day, not negotiable. Not “how do I fit this in” but “when and where do I fit this in.” A life-changing shift in your thinking and planning of your days. When things become non-negotiable, they simply become part of your routine and eventually part of how you define yourself and shape the rhythm of your life.

This hit me hard today. My head was spinning, I was overwhelmed and could list a hundred excuses to not go to Barre3. My conference call with my attorney ran long and I was already late. My back was killing me. I had a million things to do today. I did not feel like being seen or talked to. But you know what? I sent a message to say I was running late, got in the car, and made it there. Disheveled, late, and half in tears. But I made it. And even though I cried through most of the class, I did it.

For me, this illustrates the power of that which you set as simply not optional. Of all the things that had to give at that moment, working out and being in my happy place was not one of them. And the rest of the day felt a lot more manageable because I gave one hour to just myself. #barre3 #selflove #selfcare
