Thai Structural Bodywork:

Traditional Thai Massage with a Twist

~ a unique blend of Eastern and Western philosophies and techniques ~
East Meets West

Jenelle has crafted a truly unique blending of Western-style bodywork with its emphasis on postural assessment and fascial release, and traditional Thai massage methods, including compression, stretching, and energy work. She draws on her analytic mind and background in health research and her intuition and ability to “listen” to the body.

Goals - we work towards:

  • Creating balance in the body
  • Easing discomfort
  • Alleviating pain
  • Improving range of motion and movement
  • Reducing the risk of future injury
  • Relaxing and rejuvenating

Strong ~ Balanced ~ Empowered

So what IS traditional Thai massage?

An ancient bodywork practice originating in Thailand, Thai massage is often referred to a Thai Yoga Massage. It is focused on:

  • Acupressure points
  • Light to deep stretching (more on this below)
  • Deep muscle compression
  • Movement of the limbs
  • Energy clearing

For me, I describe it as a dance, with rhythmic and meditative movement and application. I move myself and my client's body in basic yoga positions.

Some key distinctions with other forms of massage:

  • Performed clothed
  • On a traditional floor mat
  • No lotions or oils
  • My whole body is used to apply pressure

Check out the photo gallery below! You kind of have to see it.

Fusing Thai Massage with Structural Bodywork

Structural Bodywork

A western-style treatment of soft tissue focused on:

  • Fascial adhesions
  • Postural imbalances
  • Structural dysfunction
So how does Structural Bodywork fuse with Traditional Thai Massage?

Quite distinct on their own, the two fuse together beautifully.

The result is powerful for:

  • Injury recovery and prevention
  • Chronic and acute pain
  • Decreasing inflammation
  • Improving circulation
  • Calming the central nervous system
  • Relieving stress
  • Restoring balance in the body
